TiE Chandigarh Hosts Landmark Full-Day AI Summit with Haryana Government, Spotlights “Glocal AI – Real Impact”

CHANDIGARH, (DPB);  TiE Chandigarh, in partnership with the Government of Haryana, successfully organised its first-ever full-day standalone AI Summit at Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh. Centred on the theme “Glocal AI – Real Impact,” the summit focused on translating artificial intelligence innovation into tangible outcomes for industry, governance, and society.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Government of Haryana, was the Chief Guest and honoured the event with his presence.

Hon’ble Shri Nayab Singh Saini Ji, Chief Minister, Haryana, said, “I extend a warm welcome to everyone at the TiE Chandigarh AI Summit. In my last Budget Session, I announced the establishment of two AI hubs in Haryana—one in Gurugram and the other in Panchkula. I am delighted that TiE Chandigarh has aptly titled today’s summit ‘Glocal AI Real Impact’, a theme that speaks for itself. Guided by the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, we are steadily moving towards a Viksit Bharat. This is the era of artificial intelligence and innovation, and India today is not merely a consumer of technology—it is emerging as a global hub of innovation. AI is transforming key sectors such as education, healthcare, and agriculture. As the world transitions from supercomputing to quantum computing, Haryana is determined to take the lead so that India can develop a quantum-ready workforce. Training advanced AI models requires robust GPU infrastructure and world-class data centres, and I am pleased to share that Haryana is committed to becoming a major data-centre hub. With its unparalleled connectivity, we firmly believe that Haryana is well-positioned to host the world’s data and drive the next phase of India’s digital growth.”

The event was formally inaugurated by Sh. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Member of Parliament and Founder & Chancellor, Chandigarh University and CGC Group of Institutes, through the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Welcoming the dignitary, Mr. Puneet Verma, President, TiE Chandigarh, expressed gratitude for his presence and highlighted the strong support of The Haryana Government for the initiative.

“This is a defining moment for TiE Chandigarh,” added Mr. Verma. “Apart from TiECON Chandigarh, this is the first time we have hosted a full-day, dedicated AI Summit—an initiative aimed at placing the region firmly on India’s AI map. With over 650 registrations—nearly 250 of them paid—we are encouraged by the overwhelming response from the ecosystem,” said Mr. Verma.

Dr. Yash Garg, IAS, Startup Haryana, said, “Haryana is committed to building one of India’s strongest startup ecosystems by empowering incubators with comprehensive fiscal and mentoring support. From capital subsidies, rental reimbursements and electricity duty exemptions to multi-crore assistance for innovation campuses, mobile app centres and startup warehouses, our policies are designed to remove barriers to innovation. With dedicated funding for government-owned and supported incubators and a strong focus on mentorship, competitions and entrepreneurship culture, we are ensuring that incubators across the state become engines of sustainable growth and global-ready innovation.”

Prabhjot Singh, IAS, Director General, Technical Education, Govt of Haryana said that Haryana has established many technical institutions offering education in Artificial Intelligence, robotics, and advanced technology programs. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening India’s future in AI by developing skilled talent capable of building and deploying indigenous AI solutions. By promoting innovation and technical excellence, Haryana is positioning itself as a hub for consistent, smart, and cutting-edge AI technologies that can serve both the state and the nation

Engaging Panel Discussions; The day opened with a thought-provoking panel titled “Raising the Bar: Women Leading the AI Landscape of India,” moderated by Somveer Anand, CEO & Mission Director, Innovation Mission Punjab. Panelists Anubhi Khandelwal (Founder & CEO, Terafac Technologies), Komal Sharma Talwar (Founder, XLSCOUT), and Varundeep Kaur (CIO, AIPPL) discussed the importance of ecosystem building, global exposure, and inclusive growth in strengthening India’s AI leadership.

Talwar emphasised the need to blend domestic innovation with international expertise, while Ms. Khandelwal highlighted the role of strong ecosystems in unlocking new opportunities.

The second session, “The AI Advantage: Closing Global Deals in the Modern Digital Landscape,” featured insights from Radhakrishna Bollineni, Munish Jauhar, Sameer Jain, Harit Mohan, and Aloke Baidya. Speakers observed how AI has rapidly transitioned from a futuristic concept to an everyday business tool. They noted that smaller firms are often quicker to adapt, allowing them to pivot rapidly and compete globally.

Another panel, “Building AI for the World: The Role of Global Enterprises in Innovation,” brought together Anil Arora, Anubhooti Bhatnagar, Piyush Garg, and Ajay Kumar. The discussion stressed responsible adoption, with Ms. Bhatnagar reminding the audience that humans must always remain central to technological progress. Mr. Arora likened AI to a powerful assistant rather than a replacement, pointing out how trust and comfort with AI tools have grown dramatically over the past two years.

Another session “AI and Jobs: How Technology Is Creating the Next Wave of Employment,” featuring Rahul Garg, Karthikeyan Jagadeesan, Arun Sharma, and Utkarsh Vijay. Panelists agreed that while AI may reshape roles, it is more likely to enhance productivity and upskill the workforce rather than eliminate jobs outright.

Three high-impact AI workshops were successfully conducted during the day, drawing packed audiences and overwhelming interest from attendees. The first session, “AI Made Simple: No Jargon, No Coding – Your First AI Toolkit,” led by Rocky Jagtiani, introduced participants to practical AI tools in an accessible, hands-on manner. This was followed by “Turn Leads into Customers with an AI Sales Engine,” where Rakesh Patel showcased how businesses can leverage AI to drive smarter sales outcomes. The third workshop, “Build AI-Powered Workflows That Run Your Business,” presented by Sanjeev Jain, focused on automating operations and scaling efficiency through intelligent systems. All three workshops were conducted to full houses, with many eager participants waiting outside as entry had to be closed due to capacity constraints—underscoring the strong enthusiasm and demand for actionable AI learning at the summit.
