Threatening Email to Actress Himanshi Khurana; FIR Registered at Sohana Police Station
DPB, Mohali, February 14: Mohali Police has swiftly registered an FIR at Sohana Police Station after film actress Himanshi Khurana received a threatening email demanding extortion. The case was registered on Saturday under Sections 308(4) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to police officials, the complaint stated that a threatening email was received on the actress’s official email ID, accompanied by a voice note. In the voice message, the आरोपी claimed to be a gangster operating from abroad and demanded ₹10 crore as extortion, warning of serious consequences if the money was not paid.
SP (Investigation) Saurav Jindal said, “As soon as the complaint was received, police took the matter seriously, registered a case immediately, and launched an investigation. The cyber cell has also been involved to trace the source of the email and voice message.”
He added that police are examining the server and IP address from which the email was sent. District Mohali Police stated that efforts are underway to identify and reach the accused based on technical evidence. Meanwhile, necessary security measures have also been taken for the actress.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
