Chandigarh: The all-round performances from Tarunika and Aahan helped UT girls to register 54 runs win over Arunachal Pradesh in their third fixture at the ongoing BCCI Under 15 ODI tournament being played at Vadodara on Tuesday.
Chandigarh opted to bat first, followed by a cautious start with 40 runs partnership between Tarunika and Jasmeet. Jikke Happy separated the duo, and thereafter, eight wickets fell in just 47 runs. Meenakshi (4/9) did the damage for UT girls with 87/8 on the board.
Bhavya Sharma and Aahan Vaid settled for a 37 runs partnership for the ninth wicket to provide much relief to the batting side. Aahan departed after scoring 19 runs as the entire Chandigarh bundled out for 125 runs in the 31st over.
In reply, the Arunachal Pradesh team could not withstand the bowling attack of Tarunika (3/7) and Aahan Vaid (3/11) and Arunachal Pradesh collapsed for 71 runs in the 31st over. Nitika (30) was the top scorer for the side as no other batter could reach the double figure mark.
Chandigarh’s next match is scheduled against Andhra Pradesh on 23 November.
