Mohali to get major relief: Big initiative by Dr. Sunny Singh Ahluwalia for City Bus Service
Letter written to Transport Minister, demand for early launch
Mohali : Considering the long-standing public transport issues in Mohali and nearby areas, Dr. Sunny Singh Ahluwalia, General Secretary of Aam Aadmi Party Punjab and Chairman of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, has written a letter to Transport Minister Mr. Harpal Singh Cheema, urging the early launch of a city bus service between Mohali, Kharar, Zirakpur, and Dera Bassi.
Dr. Ahluwalia said, “Thousands of students, employees, and workers face commuting difficulties every day. A city bus service is not just a facility, but a necessary step to make people’s daily lives easier. I will personally take up this matter and ensure its early implementation.”
He further stated that the introduction of this service will reduce dependence on private vehicles and help ease traffic congestion. It will provide people with an affordable and safe mode of transport, while also contributing to a reduction in environmental pollution.
He added that with the rapidly growing population in the Mohali region, there is a strong need for a robust and well-organized public transport system, which will improve inter-city connectivity and boost economic activities.
Dr. Ahluwalia also appreciated the development work being carried out by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann, highlighting continuous improvements in health, education, and infrastructure.
In conclusion, he expressed confidence that the launch of the city bus service will accelerate development in Mohali and surrounding areas and provide a permanent solution to commuting problems faced by the public.
