Reviewing the preparations on Thursday, Special DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla, accompanied by DIG Rupnagar Range Nanak Singh and SSP Rupnagar Maninder Singh, directed officers to make “foolproof arrangements” for the lakhs of devotees expected to gather at the birthplace of the Khalsa Panth.

The entire city has been divided into 12 sectors, with around 5,000 police personnel deployed for the mega event. For real-time aerial surveillance and crowd monitoring, six drones have been pressed into service, with live feeds monitored at a central control room.

“Police officers and officials must adopt a humble approach towards the sangat and work with full dedication to make this event successful,” said the Special DGP while briefing sector in-charges.

To streamline traffic, 21 parking areas have been earmarked and categorised by capacity. A colour-coded parking and route guidance system will assist visitors. For added convenience, 24×7 shuttle services—including 100 e-rickshaws and 50 mini-buses—will operate between parking zones and key locations.

Around 200 CCTV cameras, including PTZ and ANPR systems, have been installed across approach roads and key points, with round-the-clock monitoring at the CCTV Control Room of Police Station Anandpur Sahib. A three-layer barricading system has also been introduced at Charan Ganga Stadium for enhanced crowd management.

Hola Mohalla, symbolising the spirit of Chardhikala, draws massive participation from across the country and abroad each year.
