Crawfed raised issues at know your Candidate to Tandon & Tiwari

Chandigarh Resident Association’s welfare federation raised burning issues of city residents with Both Candidates at Know Your Candidate program held at Chandigarh Press Club .

The issues include
Need Based Changes in CHB Flats-Amnesty scheme for regularization of need-based changes made within plot area, within story line, where, extra covered area may be regularized by taking one time usage charges;
2 Roll Back enhanced Rates of Lease Hold to Free Hold;

  1. Traffic management: Plan to ease traffic congestion by constructing vehicular underpasses and upgrading of heavy traffic junctions;
  2. Formulate a reservation policy for those holding a domicile of Chandigarh, in regular/contractual/outsource jobs in the UT administration, Municipal Corporation and private sector and in admissions at various professional colleges, Panjab University and its affiliated colleges in the city.
  3. Transfer of Dwelling Units on the basis of GPA/Sub GPA which are valid before the supreme court judgement dated of September 2011;
  4. Dog/Monkey menace: Change in byelaws and fool proof system of sterilization of stray animals;
  5. Recreational facilities be provided in every community centre, a library and some indoor activity for senior citizens;
  6. The crime rate of the city is not in control and one feels unsafe. The general sense of security among people is lacking.
  7. CCTV: Most part of southern sectors do not have such facilities and sensors to catch number plate of vehicles.
  8. Old age pension, widow pension, disabled pension should be Rs. 2500/- per month.
  9. Inadequate staff and doctors in Sector 48 hospital. Provide pathological laboratories in all dispensaries;
  10. In the absence of a designated UT pin code for the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) housing complex in Sectors 61 and 63, area residents are forced to use the codes of Mohali.
    Both the candidates seemingly agreed to resolve issues once elected.

Sanjay Tandon said that he is aware of issue of Need based changes. That if elected he shall get the bylaws amended and get implemented one time settlement on basis of Delhi pattern amnesty scheme. For traffic management he said development should be done on the pattern of NCR region of Delhi where areas of kharar, Zirakpur, Mohali, panchkula should also be added and metro train service started. For facilities to senior citizen is concerned he had a vision of providing free checkup facility to them. For old age pension he said a uniform and equivilqnt policy would be made in which pension schemen of Punjab and haryana would also be studied. In the end he appealed to vote for BJP for getting pending issues resolved and development of Chandigarh.

Manish Tewari of congress said he shall bring law to get need based changes regularized. For traffic management he said he will bring rapid transport system if elected. While interacting with people and regarding their questions on municipal Corporation service related issues like garbage lifting, street vendor issue, 24 hours water supplies, he said these are management issues, he will take up with the Mayor.
