Mohali Traders Get a Direct Voice: Key Phase-2 Market Meeting Targets Business & Civic Issues
Administration, police and multiple departments join hands with Traders’ Commission to resolve concerns of Mohali & Banur traders

In a major outreach to the trading community, a joint meeting was held at Phase-2 Market, Mohali, to address the concerns of shopkeepers and traders from Mohali and Banur. The meeting was chaired by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Damandeep Kaur along with District Traders’ Commission Chairperson Ranjitpal Singh and Vice Chairperson Tarlochan Singh Baidwan.
The session focused on resolving day-to-day challenges faced by traders and ensuring smoother business operations in the region. Representatives of the Punjab State Traders’ Commission, including District Chairman Ranjitpal Singh, Vice Chairman Tarlochan Singh Baidwan and Constituency Chairman Akvinder Singh Gosal, actively interacted with traders and listened to their grievances.
Officials assured the trading community of concrete action, stating, “The Commission is committed to addressing issues at the grassroots level and facilitating traders and businessmen in every possible manner.”
During the meeting, it was highlighted that for the first time in Punjab, the state government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has created a direct communication channel with traders through the Traders’ Commission to promote ease of doing business and streamline commercial activities.
Senior officials from multiple departments, including Municipal Corporation, police, taxation, health, power, water supply, industries and labour departments, were present and addressed concerns related to their respective sectors. Traders raised key issues regarding civic amenities, law and order, taxation, infrastructure, sanitation, electricity and water supply.
Responding to the concerns, officials assured timely redressal, emphasizing that necessary steps would be taken within a fixed timeframe to resolve the issues and improve the business environment.
