Chandigarh: UT boys made a solid start with 285/4 on the first day against hosts Assam at the Col CK Nayudu Trophy match being played at Guwahati. The star of the inning was unbeaten Arnav Bansal who dominated the bowlers from the beginning.
Earlier, Chandigarh won the toss and decided to bat first. With the dismissal of Nehal Pajni (30) and skipper Arjun Azad (6), went to backfoot with 82/2 on the board.
Thereafter, Bansal made a partnership of 166 runs with Nipun Sharda and took the score to 248. Sharda played an inning of 63 runs before he departed. Later, Nishunk Birla could add only ten runs. Bansal scored 167 runs off 168 balls which was studded with 21 boundaries and five sixes.
