Traders’ Issues Take Centre Stage in Baltana Meet; Govt Assures “Time-Bound Resolution”

The Punjab State Traders’ Commission organised an interactive session with traders at Kalgidhar Market, Baltana, aiming to directly address concerns impacting the local business community.
The meeting saw active participation from traders, officials, and public representatives, where several business-related issues were raised. Officials assured that all genuine concerns would be resolved in a “time-bound manner,” reinforcing the government’s commitment to trader welfare.
Kuljit Singh Randhawa, along with administrative officers and members of the District Traders’ Commission, listened to grievances and assured prompt intervention. District Chairman Ranjit Pal Singh, Vice Chairman Tarlochan Singh Baidwan, and Constituency Chairman Ajay Kumar also reiterated that issues flagged during the interaction would be resolved at the earliest.
Chairing the session, SDM Amit Gupta stated that such engagements are crucial for strengthening trade and ensuring smooth business operations. He added that local issues would be addressed on priority, while matters requiring higher intervention would be escalated to the state level.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Randhawa highlighted that under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government is actively working to create a business-friendly environment and attract investment. He emphasized that traders are the backbone of the economy and their interests remain a top priority.
He further noted that a structured three-tier system—at constituency, district, and state levels—has been established to ensure effective and timely redressal of traders’ issues.
Senior officials from various departments, including police, taxation, labour, and industry, were also present during the interaction.
