Splendid Flute recital casts a magical spell in a special program of Music organized by Pracheen Kala Kendra


Pracheen Kala Kendra , an organization dedicated to Art and Culture known worldwide as cultural hub of North India organizes many events all over India on regular intervals to promote Indian Classical here today at its M.L. Koser indoor Auditorium.


Today’s artist needs no introduction. Pandit Santosh Sant , disciple of Living legend Padmavibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia ji. His music has the legacy, as he was born in a musician’s family of Gwalior. His father Late Pt.Vasantrao Sant was a well known Vocalist from the ancient Gwalior Gharana.

He took initial training of Music from his father and later he learnt sitar intricacies from Shriram Umedkar, a well known Sitar artist of Gwalior. Santosh is a musician, who in a sense represents an interesting meeting point between tradition and modernity.

As he is enthusiastic at attempting cross cultural collaborations, that’s why he is a 21st century Indian musician. Besides all this, He is the Founder-Director of “Swaravenu-Gurukul”, an Institution of “Bansuri”, as he always dreamed to propagate the rich tradition of Bamboo-Music of his Guru Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia amongst the talents of India & around the Globe, under our ancient “Guru-Shishya Parampara”.

Pandit Santosh Sant commenced his recital with popular Raga Yaman through a soothing aalap followed by jod and jhala . Then he doled out with beautiful compositions set to Rupak taal followed by drut ek taal bandish.

After this he presented Madhya laya teen taal and drut teen taal compositions in Raga Hansadhawani amidst applause. The audience was delighted to relish the fascinating concluding Dhun in Mishra Shivranjani.

He was ably accompanied by famous Tabla exponent Shri Pranshu Chaturlal and her talented disciple Harishita Giri Secretary Sh. Sajal Koser , Dr. Shobha Koser along with distinguished guests honored the artists. Sh. Sajal Koser disclosed that on 27th April there will be another event featuring two very young tabla players who are disciples of famous tabla Guru of Punjab Gharna Pt. Sushil Jain.
