Health Minister Punjab inaugurates Aryans Pharmacy Conference

Around 150 delegates participated across the world in this international pharmacy conference

 An international pharmacy conference on “Recent advances, opportunities & Challenges in Pharmaceutical sectors was held at Aryans Group of Colleges,  Rajpura Near Chandigarh. Health Minister, Punjab, Dr. Balbir Singh inaugurated this conference and Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over.

 

Health Minister, Punjab, Dr. Balbir Singh while highlighting the immense potential of this sector said that the pharmaceutical industry is robust, resilient and responsive. India’s pharmaceutical sector, called the Pharmacy of the World, will be contributing more in the coming years for domestic needs and to cater to global demand too. Declared as a sunrise sector, this is an emerging manufacturing hub that has seen phenomenal progress with the implementation of production linked incentive schemes and investments for medical drug parks, the Health Minister emphasized.

 

On the occasion, eminent speaker of the session was Dr Upendra Nagaich, National Secretary Society of Pharmaceutical Education & Research. The Guests of Honour were S. Gurdayal S Buttar, President, Nursing Training Institute Association, Punjab; Dr GD Gupta, Director, ISF College of Pharmacy Moga; Dr Shailesh Sharma, Director, College of Pharmacy, Bela; Dr Tejvir Kaur; Head of Pharmacy Department Medical College, Patiala

 

 

Dr. Anshu Kataria mentioned that over the last two decades particularly, the pharmaceutical industry has grown from strength to strength, turning into a major sector of education & for job opportunities. The industry has contributed immensely in increasing life expectancy too. At Aryans out of 3500, more than 1500 students are studying in healthcare courses including pharmacy, nursing, paramedical, physiotherapy etc. Not only the nation but our state will soon be the hub of the healthcare force, asserted Kataria.

 

Dr. JS Badhan, Principal Aryans College of Pharmacy said that in this international conference, around 150 delegates across the world participated. During this, presentations, interactive sessions, poster presentations, along with enlightening keynote sessions were organised by esteemed professionals from both industry and academia.
