Even a Single Fire Incident to mount action against the Concerned SHO; SSP to SHOs

In wake of the fresh orders of the Supreme Court to curb fire incidents in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP and some parts of Delhi, the district civil and police administration convened a joint meeting and conveyed to the Cluster ( over 10 villages) and Nodal (for each Village) officers and Station House Officers to ensure zero stubble burning incident henceforth in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain while chairing the meeting with SSP Dr Sandeep Garg, made it clear that even a single case of stubble burning would mount to strict action against the Concerned Cluster/ Nodal officer and SHO of the concerned area.
She said that it will be the duty of the civil and police officers deployed in the field to sensitise the Panchayats and farmers to stop the stubble on putting fire immediately otherwise offenders would be dealt with stern action.
She said that so far an environment compensation of Rs 1 lakh has been imposed on the 35 violators in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner further asked the officers to focus on the vulnerable areas where sowing is about to start. Apart from that the area/villages having repeated Incidents of stubble burning must be kept under regular monitoring. She asked the Cluster and Nodal officers to immediately report the occurrence of fire incident to the concerned Punjab Pollution Control Board officials on their WhatsApp for immediate visit of Nodal officers to the site.
The SSP Dr Sandeep Garg while addressing the meeting, instructed the DSPs of the concerned Sub Divisions and SHOs of the police stations falling in the SAS Nagar district to be in touch with their Civil counterparts (SDMs and other officers) to contain the stubble burning menance. He made it clear that any lexity may cost them dearer in light of the strict orders of the Apex Court.
He said that the SHOs must visit the sites whenever they get the information and douse the flames with the help of fire tenders already deployed in the field. He said that even a single incident would not be allowed in their respective jurisdictions to avoid discipliney action in case of negligence.
The meeting was attended by the ADCs Viraj S Tidke, Damanjit Singh Mann, Sonam Choudhary, SDMs Chandrajyoti Singh, Gurbir Singh Kohli and Himanshu Gupta besides SPs Manpreet Singh, Harinder Singh Mann, ASP Darpan Ahluwalia, DSPs Harmiran Singh Ball, Dharamvir Singh, Karan Singh Sandhu, Prabhjot Kaur, DDPO Amaninder Pal Singh Chauhan, Executive Engineer PPCB Gursharan Dass, Chief Agriculture Officer Gurmail Singh and all the SHOs, BDPOs of the district.
