Before formally inaugurating the drive, Mayor Joshi inspected residential and commercial areas of Sector 15 and directed officials to ensure effective planning, inter-departmental coordination and optimal deployment of resources. He announced that after Sector 15, the campaign will be extended to Wards 4, 5 and 6 before being rolled out across the city.

The initiative includes road repairs and recarpeting, cleaning of road gullies, footpath maintenance, restoration of market railings, park beautification, sewer and storm-water line cleaning, drinking water leakage repairs, streetlight maintenance, tree pruning and intensive sanitation measures.

Emphasising public participation, the Mayor said the mission goes beyond cleaning streets and focuses on enhancing overall civic infrastructure and quality of life. He expressed confidence that the campaign would deliver visible and lasting improvements, helping Chandigarh emerge as one of India’s cleanest and most liveable cities.
