Mohali : Addressing an election meeting at Mauli Baidwan village today, former Punjab minister and Congress candidate from Mohali Balbir Singh Sidhu said that he might not be 100 percent perfect in his previous term. But he was 90 percent perfect for sure.
“I would term myself 100 percent perfect when I would be able to provide jobs to 5,000 youths of Mohali. I am eagerly waiting for that day when 5,000 youths of Mohali would be employed in industries and other health and educational institutions in Mohali.
“It was the aim of my political career to dedicate my life to social work. When I entered politics I would aspire to be a perfect MLA for which people would say that he has done justice to his MLA seat from all aspects,”
Keeping it in mind I am on a mission to meet this aim from the very first day of my political career. For three times Mohali people’s love and support gave me a chance to serve them, he said.
“We have done much development in the rural area of Mohali. Many sewerage pipes were laid down and repaired. Many new link roads were constructed and existing ones were re-carpeted. Many schools were upgraded and many other civic amenities related matters were completed successfully. A Medical college and Nursing colleges are being set up in Mohali. But it is my wish to enable my assembly youth to get employment in Mohali itself.”
To meet this dream , If elected again, my next 5 years would be dedicated to strengthening the infrastructure of education, medical and employment, Sidhu said.
“The need of the hour is to improve the standard of our children’s education so that they can compete with others and get employment in industries and institutions in Mohali itself. Keeping this in mind we have done our best to raise the education infrastructure in Mohali.”
I have planned to set up commerce and science colleges in Mohali so that children from here could be able to get all types of education. They wouldn’t need to go outside for any kind of education, he opined.
In the past years the Mohali industries are going up by leaps of bounds and it’s my dream to see youth from Mohali getting employment in these industries.
We have brought an IT City here which would employ 5000 youth in IT sector jobs.
The district hospital for which opposition parties are making hullaballoo would generate at least 5000 directly and indirectly.
The employment prospects in Mohali will increase in the coming days and it’s high time to equip our children with relevant education and experience, he asserted.
“The big industries are investing heavily in Mohali. It is now in our hands to improve the education level of our children so that they could be able to get employment in these big industries and institutions.”
He further said that presently the value of Mohali is not less than any city in India. In a survey of 372 cities in the country Mohali ranking was improved from 163 positions to 81. This position was raised only during the 7th month working of newly elected MC in Mohali. After 10 month I can assure that Mohali ranking will be among the top 15 cities and after 2 years Mohali will be at no 1 position in India, he maintained.
This is our thinking and plans to develop Mohali furthermore. Many projects and works were done and many more are still to be done, Sidhu said adding and for that I need your support again so that we can jointly take Mohali to such a level from where others in the country can follow it.
