VC launches Alumni Connect Platform of MRSPTU Alumni Association

Bathinda: Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, Vice Chancellor, Prof.  Buta Singh Sidhu launched Alumni Connect Platform of MRSPTU Alumni Association (MAA) in the presence of august gathering of Deans, Directors, faculty, staff, retired professors and alumni from all across the world.

      

More than 350 dignitaries and alumni participated in the event from various countries including USA, UK, Canada,  New Zealand, Australia and other countries from  across the globe.  

      

Alumni after registration on this (http://alumni.mrsptu.ac.in/) portal can stay connected with faculty, staff and 20000+ alumni of MRSPTU main campus, Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), Punjab State Aeronautical Engineering College, (PSAEC) Patiala. Bathinda, Punjab Institute of Technology (PIT) Rajpura, PIT Nadgarh, PIT GTB Garh and s PIT Arniwala.

MRSPTU, GZSCCET and PIT’s alumni from all across the Globe participating in Alumni Connect Programme.

 

Addressing the alumni, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu said with launching of the portal everyone will get an opportunity to reconnect under one umbrella of MRSPTU Alumni Association. “Our Alumni can pitch in to prop up and train students of their alma mater, donating time, money and their expertise in generous measure.  Our Alumni can tremendously support our Placement cell by linking the Industries wherever they are working. We are thankful to all, who took their initiative,” said Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu, while encouraging the alumni.  He narrated that the association with old friends will make life more meaning, relieves the stress of hectic corporate chores and bring cheer to life.

     

Prof. Sidhu conveyed that alumni chapters would be started on the basis of geographical locations all across the globe where alumni would be the strengthening connects at regional level for mutual benefits. He congratulated Prof. Rajesh Gupta and his team for coordinating the entire event.

 

 

Giving details, man behind the mega event (Programme in-charge coordinator), Prof. Rajesh Gupta said   that as many as 29 batches have been passed out and our alumni are working in more than 80 countries in six continents. They are working in almost every public sector organization may it be IAS, IPS, IFS, PCS,  Judiciary,  administrative, ISRO, public sector services, technical, start-ups, entrepreneurship, or may it be a semi government, public limited, private limited companies or else at state, national and international level in wide range of positions making their families and its alma mater of  proud.

   

Nupur IAS Officer, B.Tech (CSE) 2011-2015 Batch (who hails from Gidderbaha town), Er. Maninder Singh MD, Manzeera Solution, UK  B.Tech (CSE) 2000-2004 Batch, Er. Harjit Singh, Sr. Scientist, ISRO B.Tech (ME) 2003-2007 Batch, Ar. Jatinder Kaur Professor, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, B.Arch 1989-1994 Batch, Er. Abhishek Sharma Structural Specialist, Qatar Gas, Qatar B.Tech (Civil) 1994-1998 Batch, Er. Bharat Kainth Entrepreneur at Adelaide, Australia B.Tech (EE) 1998-2002 Batch, Mrs. Ritika Chumber ITECH Formulation, Chandigarh M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics (2017-19 Batch), Er Manupreet Singh Randhawa Canada Health Services Calgary,  Canada Mechanical 2007-11 batch, Ankush from Switzerland, and many other alumni shared their views during this interaction. Many of them were feeling nostalgic meeting all the faculty, staff and their peer batch mates. Many of them paid their regard and respect to their teachers, who contributed a lot to shape their future. Many alumni offered to contribute for the alma mater to provide better employment opportunities of students, for arranging internships, as experts at various platforms in university activities, for technical collaborations in area of research and development with university, for monetary contributions, for launching scholarships to students and to contribute in any form.

Registrar MRSPTU, Prof. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar  extended the vote of thanks to all present and shared valuable thoughts about alumni connect programme. He stated that Alumni has one unique thing that “everyone is equal” irrespective of their positions.

Campus Director, Dr. Savina Bansal, Deans, Directors and Heads including Dr. Jasbir Singh Hundal, Dr. Manjit Bansal, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Harjinder Singh Sidhu, Mr. Harjot Singh Sidhu and senior faculty also attended the event.

Programme Anchor Prof. Sunita Kotwal conducted the programme very well and got applause from everyone for her oratory skills. Co-coordinators Er. Gagandeep Singh Sodhi, Er. Manpreet Kaur and Er. Haramritpal Singh Sidhu also played crucial role in the programme.
