Chandigarh : In a thrilling inaugural match of the 16th Sister Alberta Memorial Cricket Tournament held at St. Annes Convent School in Sector 32, Chandigarh, St. Annes Convent School emerged victorious against Chitkara International School with a commanding performance.
Opting to field after winning the toss, Chitkara International School faced a formidable challenge as St. Annes Convent School posted an impressive total of 190 for 2 in their allotted 20 overs. The batting prowess of Sourish Sanwal (46), Rakshit (89 not out), and Reyansh (20 not out) propelled St. Annes to a commanding position.
In response, Chitkara International School struggled to chase down the target, managing to score only 109 for 9 in 20 overs. Hiren (48) and Shobit (20) were the primary contributors for Chitkara, but the team fell short by 81 runs. St. Annes Convent School emerged triumphant in the match, showcasing their dominance with both bat and ball.
In the second encounter of the day, St. Xavier School faced off against Aksips School in a high-stakes clash. Opting to bat after winning the toss, St. Xavier School posted a challenging total of 234 for 8 in 20 overs. Swapnil (67), Shaurya (34), and Harshool (34) led the charge for St. Xavier School, while Darpan’s impressive bowling performance saw him claim 3 wickets for 10 runs.
Aksips School, in their pursuit of the target, struggled against the disciplined bowling attack of St. Xavier School. They could only manage 126 for 9 in 20 overs, with Aditya (32) and Ayush (19) being the main contributors. Harshit (3 for 16) and Harshul (2 for 32) played crucial roles in restricting Aksips.
