Shermock Senior Sec. School, Sector 69 observed two days annual sports day during the founder’s week celebrations. Vivek Atray Ex. IAS and Maj Gen.Ajay H Chauhan VSM director MRSAFPI was the chief guest was the chief guest for the first day of sports meet. They released the set colorful balloons to declare the meet open. He appreciated the girls participation and motivated to excel in future. Vivek Atray Ex. IAS also highlighted the role of sports in the field of life in his address. The first day witnessed the heats of the races and other athletic events included long jump, shot put etc. The second day kick started with the cultural bonanza of events with Ganesh Vandana, Zumba and Bhangra as the highlights of the day. It was followed by the finals of the athletic events, 100m 200m 400m 800m and 1500m races for boys and girls under14, 17l and19 category.
The events promoted healthy competition and sportsmanship among the students as it was an inter house event The trophy for best contingent was bagged by Oxford house and the athletic trophy and over all trophy was bagged by Stanford house. Under 17, Saatvik was the boy’s best athlete and Gursimran was the girl’s best athlete. The best athletes under 19 category were Mehak in girls and it was shared by Shiven Tayal and Vivaan Sooden in Boys .The winners were awarded by the school principal Prineet Sohal. The excitement of the day was fun games arranged for mothers and fathers of the students and the winners were awarded.
