Derabassi Administration Takes Possesion of 275 Acres of Golden Forests India Limited

SDM Derabassi has took possession of 275 acres of land earlier related to Golden Forest India Limited, said Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain, here, today.
Divulging more details, she said, a few days back, while reviewing the status of Golden Forest India Limited land whose possession was transferred to Government of Punjab by declaring it surplus under Punjab Land Reform Act-1972, the SDM and Revenue Officers of the Derabassi Sub Division were directed to identify the land and make it free from the encroachments, if any.
She said that as per the record, about 1843 acres of land was transferred in the name of Government of Punjab in 27 villages of Derabassi and it would be ensured to get the land freed from the illegal possession of the occupants and to be used for revenue generation.
Deputy Commissioner said that as per the commitment of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make Government lands free of any illegal possession, the District Administration is already working on it.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Derabassi, Himanshu Gupta added that revenue teams based on Kanungos and Patwaris have been working hard to identify the GFIL land transferred to State. He said that they have been preparing an inventory of the land and its locations and are taking possession of such lands after preparing a schedule of visits. He reiterated that as per the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, the Sub Division Administration would soon make it possible to have all the land in its possession for further action.
