Ranveer Duggal Secures Dual Silver Medals and Qualifies for Asian Snooker Championship
Chandigarh: Ranveer Duggal, an exceptionally talented Billiards and Snooker player from Chandigarh has secured dual Silver Medals, both in Billiards and Snooker in the Under-21 category at the ongoing Billiards and Snooker Nationals held in Indore recently. This remarkable achievement showcases his dedication, skill, and perseverance in the highly competitive field of cue sports.
Ranveer delivered outstanding performances throughout the tournament, coming extremely close to clinching the gold. In a nail-biting decider frame in Snooker against Dhruv Patel of Gujarat, Ranveer unfortunately lost on the last black ball, securing the silver medal.He gave tough time to his opponent by his skilful shots. Though it was disappointing moment for Ranveer as he was on the verge of winning the decider frame.The match a thrilling Rollercoaster saw both players display their mental toughness.The match spanned seven frames with both players back and forth.After losing the first frame Dhruv made a comeback leading thd nexg two frames. But Ranveer was not ready to give up and fought back to level the score 2..2. The curiosity intensified as both the players won alternating frames and came up to decider frame where Ranveer unluckily lost th the last black ball.
In Billards Ranveer won from Dhruv Patel by 8 points in one and half match hour in semi final. Dhruv was just up by 1 point where he made a foul and only 50 seconds were left when Ranveer took the opportunity and hurried back fast to make 8 points to win against Dhruv patel. Last year during Nationals, he made Chandigarh proud by embarking two gold medals in both Billiards and Snooker under 21 category.
It is a delightful news that Ranveer Duggal has qualified to represent India at the prestigious Asian Snooker Championship (Under-21) to be held in Doha, Qatar, from 16th to 21st February 2025. This qualification is a testament to his exceptional abilities and his potential to excel on the international stage.
