Punjab DGP appeared in the High Court in a drug case

Chandigarh : The Punjab DGP appeared in the High Court in a drug case, where the High Court reprimanded the Punjab government, stating, “We continuously observe that the government is not taking any action.”

It appears that the police may be colluding with the drug mafia.

The DGP and the government appear to be ineffective. They should first issue an apology and then take immediate action.

The government should demonstrate its commitment to the High Court by taking concrete steps rather than making assurances.

When government witnesses, who are police personnel, fail to appear for years to testify, it raises suspicions about the police’s conduct.

It’s evident that there is collusion between the drug mafia and the police. The government should first address its internal issues.

The government must now provide a clear timeline for the actions it intends to take.

Punjab is a border state and highly sensitive. Despite this, the government and police have failed, eroding the trust of the entire country.

The DGP claimed to have taken strict actions, but the High Court asserted, “It is your duty, and you must fulfill it.” The Court questioned what the police force is doing beyond making arrests and seizures and why policemen are not attending to witnesses.
