Dawn Punjab Bureau / Chandigarh : Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today reached out to BJP leaders sitting on dharna outside his residence in protest against rising attacks on BJP leaders.

The BJP leaders were enraged over Rajpura incident where farmers had taken party leaders hostage and freed by police early today morning after intervention by Punjab and Haryana High Court.
BJP leaders led by state president Ashwani Sharma started dharna in front of CMs residence and demanded protection for BJP leaders. BJP also alleged that they were attacked by Congress workers under the garb of farmers. BJP workers also held protests in various cities of Punjab.

Chief Minister who stays at his farm house in Siswan rushed to his official residence and invited BJP leaders for a meeting.
BJP leaders have told Chief Minister about failure of police to protect party leaders from attack. They demanded stern action against miscreants involved in Rajpura incident.
