PSVOA delegation took up farmer friendly issues with Animal Husbandry Minister- Submitted Memorandum.

Minister asked the delegation to work for welfare of farmers.

Assurance given by the Minister to comply with the demands.

S.A.S Nagar : Punjab State Veterinary Officers Association (PSVOA), an association of veterinary officers working in the Animal Husbandry Department met the Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal at Vikas Bhawan .

PSVOA took up farmer friendly issues and some cadre issues with the minister. The Minister listened to almost every issue very seriously and asked the delegation to work for welfare of farmers and assured the delegation for speedy solution of the demands of veterinarian cadre.

He also urged the the veterinarians to work harder to improve the economy of distressed farmers so that rural folk involved in this profession could be substantially benefited..

He said that whatever pro-people proposal or scheme would be presented to him by the organization, would be considered by the government with a positive attitude. He said that, a three day Livestock Heritage exhibition – 2022 is being organised on the historic ocassion of Vaisakhi at Talwandi Sabo on 12th to 14th April 2022 to popularize the animal husbandry profession among the people.

All issues raised by PSVOA delegation were discussed in great detail by the minister and minister assured the organization of all possible help to comply with the demands of cadre. The issues raised in memorandum includes eradication of mafia active in the trade of Synthetic and spurious milk so that to prevent an adverse effect on health of people of all ages Including children.

Association members urged minister that there is an urgent need to develop more milk testing laboratories in the state and for this purpose one advanced laboratory can be established at Dairy science college in Guru Angad Dev Veterinary University (GADVASU) Ludhiana.

Apart from this other issues raised were cheaper insurance scheme for milch cattle, restoration of pay parity of veterinarians with medicos, providing more posts at district level polyclinics and reducing fees for HS vaccine and speeding up departmental promotions.

In this delegation the chief advisor of the organization Dr. Sarabjit Singh Randhawa, President, Dr. Gurdit Singh Aulakh, Secretary General Dr. Darshan Kheri, Senior Vice President Dr. Gurdev Singh, General Secretary Dr. Sarabdeep Singh, Organizational Secretary Dr. Gagandeep Kaushal, State Treasurer Dr. Suraj Bhan, District President Dr. Chatinder Singh and advisor Dr. Ravi Kant were present.
