Chandigarh: A.C. Joshi Library, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized Regional Training Programme on ShodhShudhi/Plagiarism Detection Software for Northern Region in association with INFLIBNET/UGC which is organizing a series of event on the subject at different states of India. About hundred participants from different Universities/Institutes in Northern Region as well as various other Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) attended the Programme.
Manoj Kumar K, Scientific (F), keynote speaker, stressed on sensitization about plagiarism through seminars, academic integrity courses etc. He explained in detail about various types of plagiarism and how we can avoid it.
Prof. Harsh Nayyar, Director, Research Development Cell &University Librarian in his inaugural address stressed on quality of research and make awareness about harmful effects of breach in research ethics. He explained that the research published in top most journals are subject to retraction, sometimes, due to unethical practices.
There was a detailed technical session on DrillBit Plagiarism Detection Software.
