Says people with shoes climbed up the dome of the temple of Maharishi Valmiki in presence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi
Chandigarh : Despite deducting three generations to the Congress party Geja Ram Valmiki, National President of Central Valmiki Sabha India and Punjab Government, Safai Karamcharis Commission chairman, has asked the society to not to vote for the party in the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections.
Interacting with the media at Chandigarh Press Club, Valmiki stressed that he and his supporters have been sidelined by the Congress party in many occasions.
“In 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections, I was allotted Jagraon ticket, however it
was withdrawn later. The same happened recently, when I was made to wait till the last moment to file my nomination from Jagraon constituency. I was asked to wait and till 2.45pm there was no response on my ticket. However, in the end, the high command humiliated me by giving the ticket to someone else despite high promises,” said Valmiki.
” This has now happened twice. It has not only tarnished my image, but disheartened my community and it’s supporters. Through this platform, I appeal to thousands members of our community to not to vote for Congress party,” he added.
He further said, ” I am now into a situation that I can’t leave the party nor support it. Unethical decisions by the party has forced to issue a whip. I have a feeling that our party is going to end in mutual discord and nepotism. I want to bring to the notice of Party high command that when Rahul ji went to Darbar Sahib, he also met common people, but in Bhagwan Balmiki Tirath , people with shoes climbed up the dome of the temple of Maharishi Valmiki, which was a shameful act and the party workers raised slogans and showed displeasure. I have an advice to the party that I am a soldier of the party and will remain till my death, but my heart is crying today, that is why I am forcing my Valmiki Samaj to not vote for my Congress. Today I have to say with a very sad heart that the anti-Balmiki Samaj and Majhabi Sikh samaj faces of CM Channi and Harish Chaudhary have come to the fore.”
