Mohali : The various temples’ priests in Mohali constituency under the banner of Central Temple Priests Council Welfare Association on Thursday announced their support to the former Punjab cabinet minister and Congress candidate from Mohali, Balbir Singh Sidhu in the coming Punjab assembly poll on February 20.
The decision was taken in a meeting which was attended by the large number of priests from different temples across the Mohali constituency. Balbir Sidhu was also present during the occasion.
Association representatives said that Balbir Singh Sidhu is a society leader who always stands with everybody in their sorrows and joys. He helps every class and communities by giving equal respect and preference to all religions and its representatives by rising above the party lines. He is available every time to solve the problems of people from all religions and communities.
Like past elections he will be elected MLA from Mohali with a landslide victory this time too, they asserted.
Association also urged Balbir Sidhu to construct a building for it in Mohali where it could conduct its programs.
Speaking on the occasion, Balbir Sidhu said that he has always worked for the betterment of every section of the society in Mohali without any discrimination.
He announced that with the formation of a Congress government in Punjab again, a building for the priests would be constructed in Mohali as per their requirements.
Among others, Deputy Mohali Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, Association’s President Acharya Jagdish Raturi, Patron Sunderlal Bijalwan, Chairman Pandit Lucky Sharma, Chief Adviser Shivanand Joshi, General Secretary Yogeshwar Prasad, Treasurer Sarveshwar Gaur and Chief Custodian Acharya Virender and other Association members were also present during the occasion.
