Shamefulness in lying about clearing the property tax and increasing the water rate in the sectors of GMADA will be the reason for the defeat of Congress candidate Sidhu : Ramanpreet Kaur Kumbhada
Mohali : Congress MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu, who came to power by making a false promise of getting the people of the city Mohali complete waiver of property tax five years ago, will only lead to his crushing defeat. These views were expressed by Councillor Ramanpreet Kaur Kumbhada from Ward No 28 of Municipal Corporation Mohali while addressing a meeting held in favor of Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kulwant Singh by Mohali Employees Society in Sector 68.
Kulwant Singh was also honoured by presenting Siropa by the residents of the society.Councillor Sardarni Ramanpreet Kaur Kumbhada said that during the tenure of Congress MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu, who lied on the issue of property tax, water bills were also increased five times in sectors 66 to 80 of GMADA. The people of these sectors paid the bills five times but the Congress MLA did not make any effort to reduce the rate.
Forced, many councillors filed a case in the Mohali court and got the increased water rates refunded. Even now the opposition councillors have filed a separate case in the court to get the excess money returned to the people in the bills.
She said that Balbir Singh Sidhu, the candidate who grabbed votes by telling lies in these elections, would be defeated badly and Aam Aadmi Party would be strengthened by winning the elections by electing a noble and honest candidate with a clean image, Sardar Kulwant Singh. On this occasion, residents of the Employees Society, Najar Singh, Sagar Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Paramjit Singh, Swarn Singh, Surinder Kaur, Rita Madam, Ripna etc. assured Kulwant Singh that this time people will vote decisively in AAP’s favour by voting on the symbol of ‘Broom’thereby contributing in forming the government of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab
