Misl Satluj to Launch ‘Pura Punjab Lehar’ from Feb 17 in Mohali

Dwan Punjab Bureau, Mohali, February 14

Misl Satluj will launch its “Pura Punjab Lehar” (Inclusive Punjab Campaign) on February 17 at 11:00 AM from Gurdwara Amb Sahib, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), aiming to bring Punjab’s core issues to the forefront ahead of the 2027 state elections.

Sharing details, Misl President Ajaypal Singh Brar announced that a two-week thought camp will be held under the campaign, inviting intellectuals, social workers, well-wishers of Punjab, and prominent personalities from various fields, irrespective of political affiliation. Their views will be heard and presented on a public platform to stimulate wider debate on key concerns.

Brar said the organization has been working for the past four to five years on five major issues, including the Panjab University Senate matter, which he linked to Chandigarh not being under Punjab’s full control. He reiterated that historically Chandigarh is Punjab’s capital and should be handed over to the state.

He also highlighted Punjab’s lack of full control over its dams and rivers, stating that river waters are diverted to other states even when Punjab faces shortages, while floods cause heavy losses without compensation.

Brar emphasized stronger federal powers for Punjab to create jobs for youth and tackle migration, environmental pollution, and drug abuse. He said, “Before the 2027 state elections, all the issues concerning Punjab will be clearly placed before the public so that politicians taking the plunge into the electoral contest are compelled to clarify their stand and possibly present a future roadmap.”

He added the campaign envisions a prosperous, culturally vibrant, drug-free and inclusive Punjab with secure communities, clean environment, and employment opportunities for its youth.
