Mohali: A major fire broke out at the Sunny Enclave police post in Kharar town, located in Punjab’s Mohali district, on Friday. Although nobody was injured in the incident, vehicles that were parked there as case property were said to have been gutted.
It took the fire brigade around three hours to control the fire after a struggle. The police conducted a preliminary investigation and found that the fire occurred in the morning due to a spark in High voltage line. At the time of the fire, police personnel were present inside the post. However, the fire spread to the area where case property vehicles were parked.
The police post had approximately 150 case property vehicles parked in it, and most of them were gutted. Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Garg stated that they are assessing the damage to the case property vehicles.
