INSTRUCTIONS WERE GIVEN TO OFFICIALS TO EXPEDITE AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF DEVELOPMENT WORKS

Local Government Minister Balkar Singh conducted a review meeting with Municipal Corporation Commissioners from various cities at Municipal Bhawan, Sector 35, Chandigarh. Officials were instructed to enhance the speed and quality of development projects.
During the meeting, Balkar Singh discussed various topics with Municipal Corporation Commissioners from Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Phagwara, and Mohali. He sought detailed information from the Commissioners regarding the Smart Cities Mission, Amrut-24×7 water supply, reuse of treated wastewater. Additionally, under Swach Bharat Mission He reviewed CBG bio-methanation plants, C&D waste management plants, the progress of legacy waste treatment, and the financial status of Swachh Bharat Mission 1.0 and Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0. The Minister also urged officials under which the funds remain unused, to use those funds in development works for the welfare of people as per given guidelines.
Local Government Minister stressed the importance of expediting ongoing projects in various sectors, increasing transparency and accountability, and ensuring the optimal use of resources. Officials also presented their proposals for upcoming initiatives to promote all-round development in the state.
Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh mentioned that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to making Punjab a prosperous state. He advised officials to work in coordination with each other to achieve this goal.
Cabinet Minister highlighted that the Local Government Department is working to advance the development agenda in Punjab. The primary objective of the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is to provide basic facilities and a clean, pollution-free environment to the people of the state.
On this Occasion, Local Government Department Secretary Ajoy Sharma, Director Uma Shankar Gupta, PMIDC CEO Deepti Uppal, and Municipal Commissioners from Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Phagwara, and Mohali were present in the meeting.
