Need to plant more saplings to protect the environment: Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi
Mohali: 35 mango saplings were planted by Lions Club Supreme Mohali today under the leadership of Club PRO Harinderpreet Singh. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Mohali Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi who is also the ex President of Lions Club Mohali.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi praised Loins Club Mohali Supreme and said that there is a need to plant more trees to protect the environment and reduce pollution. He said that trees are also helpful in avoiding global warming. He especially praised PRO Harinderpreet Singh of Lions Club Mohali Supreme and said that all these mango plants were prepared by Harinderpreet Singh himself and not brought from a nursery. He said that it is a matter of happiness that today the youth are joining the social service and becoming a source of inspiration for others.
President of the organization Jagjit Kaur Kahlon said that the Lions Club Mohali has been doing social service projects of the highest kind and all its members are always ready for social service. She especially thanked Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi and said that Kuljit Singh Bedi makes maximum efforts to solve the problems of the people of the city and gets the problems solved. He said that the city needs such leaders.
Former president of the organization Tilak Raj and secretary Satwinder Singh Dhadak thanked everyone. On this occasion, newly made member of the club, Jasbir Singh Malhi, Lion Rajinder Singh Kahlon and other dignitaries were present.
