Chandigarh: UT girls registered an easy on sided eight-wicket win over Bihar in the opening encounter of the BCCI Women’s Under 23 T20 match played at Mumbai on Sunday. Bihar won the toss and decided to bat first as their start was completely spoiled by the lethal bowling from skipper Kashvee Gautam (3/12).
She accounted for skipper Prity (0), Vishalakshi (1) and Vaidehi Yadav (3) with 17/3. Later, Aradhana Bisht (2/10) took the charge and scalped Yashita Singh (8) and Nikki Kumari (0) in the same over to reduce the side at 21/5. Jyoti Kumari dismissed Pragati Singh (7) on a team score of 33. Unbeaten Arpana Kumari (28) and Rachna Singh (13) stitched a partnership of 43 runs to steer the team to 76/6 runs in the stipulated twenty overs.
In reply, unbeaten Twinkle Pathak (33) brought the team home at the loss of two wickets in just 13th over.
Chandigarh’s next match is against Delhi on Monday.
