AMRITSAR: Jallianwala Bagh Shaheed Parivar Samiti has decided to go on hunger strike in front of Jallianwala Bagh on August 25 in protest against the closures of Bagh
Talking to reporters here today,
Jallianwala Bagh Shaheed Parivar Samiti Secretary Nanish Behl has strongly condemned the attitude of the government towards reopening of Jallianwala Bagh which is an insult to the martyrs of 13 April 1919.
A large number of people want to pay their tributes to martyrs.
Meanwhile, the tourism department is considering setting up a new committee for Jallianwala Bagh soon and removing the current secretary of the trust and a caretaker may be appointed soon to look after the historic Jallianwala Bagh.
RTI activist Shri P.C. Sharma claimed that he had received the information through RTI.
He said that the tourism department could appoint a caretaker.
We are enjoying complete freedom. Due to the martyrs killed in the 1919 massacre,he added.
