Mohali: On the occassion of Mother’s Day, Dr GC Mishra Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust and Manav Mangal Smart School, Mohali today honored 10 Inspirational mothers who fought the challenges that came in their way to fulfill the dream of their Children.
These mothers not only struggled very hard throughout their life but also made a way to success for their Children. Tenth “Maa Samman Samaroh” was held today at Manav Mangal Smart School, Sector-64. Mohali.
Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Shri Banwari Lal Purohit honored these mothers in the presence of Dr. Parvinder Singh, Vice Chancellor, Rayat-Bahra University, Mohali.
Every Mother who was honored had a different story of their dedication towards their children. Besides mothers from tricity, mothers from other states were also honored.
The mothers who were honored includes Smt. Hemwanti Devi from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Baldev Kaur from Bhadaur, Barnala, Smt. Mooli Devi from Jaipur, Smt. Saroj and Smt. Sharda Saini from Panchkula, Smt. Nirmal Malhotra, Smt. Aneeta Jayara and Smt. Sharmita Bhinder from Chandigarh and Smt. Alka Trivedi from Jaipur. Smt. Kulwanti Pathak was conferred “Mother of the Year” Award. Students of Manav Mangal Smart School presented a Cultural Program highlighting the importance of a mother in everyone’s life.
It may be mentioned that the Trust is formed by Mr Mayank Mishra in the memory of his late father Dr GC Mishra, who had retired as professor from Panjab University. On this occasion Sanjay Sardana, Director, Manav Mangal Group of Schools, Mr Mayank Mishra, Managing Trustee were also present.
Addressing gathering, Hon’ble Governor Shri Banwari Lal Purohit appreciated the efforts of the organizers and congratulated all the mothers who were honoured. Giving many examples, he said that a son can be a ‘Kuputra’ but a mother can never be a ‘Kumata’. He saluted the mother power and said that today girls are advancing in every field and there are many areas where girls dominate.
