Amrit Kalash Yatra Unites ULBs in a Symbolic Celebration of Unity and Prosperity

Under Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign, Amrit Kalash Yatra organized by the Municipal Corporation Mohali witnessed active participation from all ULBs. Participants collected earth and rice grains from their respective areas in kalash and brought them to the Municipal Corporation, where the kalash containers were opened in a solemn ceremony. The collected earth was mixed ceremonially. All (ULBs) of S.A.S. Nagar came together to participate in the Amrit Kalash Yatra. This event brought communities together to collect sacred earth and rice grains, symbolizing the unity of the region and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
Following this sacred ritual, the mixed earth was carefully placed in metal vessels “gaggars,”. These vessels were then sealed, symbolizing the commitment to preserving the environment and nurturing our shared future.
Sh. Manpreet Singh, Assisstant Commissioner, MC S.A.S. Nagar Mohali, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This event embodies the spirit of unity, tradition, and sustainable living. Our communities have come together to make a powerful statement about our dedication to a greener, healthier future.”
Commissioner, Mrs Navjot Kaur added, “the Amrit Kalash Yatra serves as a shining example of how local communities can unite for a common cause, preserving their heritage while embracing modern environmental values.”
