To acknowledge the efforts and contributions made by the private schools all over India for elevating the stature of education and shaping young minds, the Federation of Private Schools and Associations of Punjab (FAP) will be hosting the third edition of FAP National Awards on November 25 and 26 at the campus of Chandigarh University, Gharuan.
To add the prestige to the event, the two-day award function will be attended by honourable Union Minister of State (MoS) for education, Raj Kumar Ranjan Singh; former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Kiran Bedi; former Indian cricketer, Neha Tanwar; Army veteran Lt Gen (Retd) Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon and Amarjeet Kaur Dalan who is the deputy secretary of academic and planning branch, Punjab State Education Board (PSEB). Besides this, the President of FAP, Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri will also be present on the occasion.
The FAP National Awards ceremony holds immense significance in honouring the dedication and excellence of schools, principals, teachers, and students who have made exceptional contributions to education and society. During FAP National Awards 2023, Best Teacher Awards, Best School Awards, Best Principal Awards, and Pride of India Awards for students will be given to deserving candidates from all across the country.
While the awards will recognize the meritorious principals and teachers for their contributions to schools and community, it will also recognize schools who have achieved meritoriously in the academic, sports, and cultural domains. Moreover, students will also be awards for academic excellence.
While speaking about FAP National Awards 2023, FAP President Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri said that the private schools play a pivotal role in our education system, making substantial contributions to societal development and nation-building through the provision of quality education to students. “The FAP Awards 2023 aim to honour and acknowledge their remarkable contributions. In its inaugural edition, the awards were granted to the top-performing schools, teachers, and principals largely from Punjab. However, starting from the second edition last year, the scope of these awards expanded nationwide, welcoming applicants from across India,” he said.
Divulging the details about the awards, Dr Dhuri said that a total of 1831 awards will be given during FAP Awards 2023. “As many as 762 teachers, 510 students, and 342 principals, and 217 private schools from various states of India will be awarded during the FAP Awards this year,” he said.
For schools, teachers, and students, the awards will be given in four categories, whereas principals will be given awards in six categories. The categories under which the awards will be given are – Academic Achievement Award, Sports Achievement Award, Cultural Achievement Award (Music, Dance, Art, Theatre), Unique Practices Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Prestigious Award for principals.
Besides these awards, this year FAP is introducing Pride of India Awards to recognize the students with excellence in Academics, Sports, and Culture. 50 Meritorious students from Punjab and 50 students from other Indian states who have scored 98% and above marks in Class 10 and 12 exams (2022-23) in CBSE, CISCE, IB or PSEB board will be given this award.
Culture category awards will be given to students who have won positions in cultural events conducted by FAP, and Sports Awards for students with ranks in national-level graded games and events.”
