NGO’s Celebrates National Doctors Day:
Dawn Punjab Bureau / Chandigarh: National Doctors Day was celebrated on Tuesday by the NGO’s The Last Bencher and Onkar Charitable Foundation. Doctors who gave commendable services to the Covid patients without caring for their lives during the Corona crisis were honored.
Former Mayor Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh Asha Jaswal was the chief guest of the event. During the felicitation ceremony, Dr. Jagat Ram, Director, PGI, Dr. Amandeep Kaur Kang, Director, Sector 16, GMSH and Professor Jasbinder Kaur, Director, GMCH, Sector 32, have to be honored for their commendable services to the humanity, but due to the administrative assignments , they couldn’t make it to the event and were later on honoured at their respective offices.
On this occasion, Dr. Rajiv Kapila, Nodal Officer (National AYUSH Mission) was also honoured for his services during the COVID disaster. At the same time, about 15 doctors who specially served the Covid patients in the Mini Covid Care Center in the dire disaster of the covid period were also honoured.
The Doctors who were honoured included Dr. Abhishek Kapila, Dr. Vikas Sharma, Dr. Baldev Sharma, Dr. Richa Sharma, Dr. D.S. Chauhan, Dr. Akansha Sharma, Dr. Gaurav Garola, Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, Dr. Tamanna Sindhu, Dr. Amroj Singh, Dr. Navroop Kaur, Dr. Tanya Sharma, Dr. Suninder Kaur and Dr. Gaurav Sharma. On this occasion, Incharge of Sector 08 Mini Covid Care Center, Rohina Khullar, Tejbir Singh and Incharge of Sector 47 Mini Covid Care Center, Tanu Mehtani along with Arvind Mehan, Incharge of Sector 27 Covid Care Center, were also honored for their incomparable services to the society.
On this occasion members of the NGO’s Ravneet Kaur, Ekam, Astinder Kaur, Shashi Bala, Divya Singla, Rita Nanda, Aarti Budhiraja along with Raina, Nisha and Gursimran Singh members of NGO’s were also present.
Ravinder Singh Billa, Chairman of Onkar Charitable Foundation and Sumita Kohli, President of The Last Bencher, said that in the year 2020 and now this year 2021, the way the corona epidemic started wreaking havoc across the country with the first and second wave, the city The way the doctors, performing their duty, day and night one by one, without caring about their lives, served the Covid positive patients.
