Live Demo Given by the Eligible Bidders at Traffic lights of Sector 66/80
In first phase, 20 junctions/ locations to be covered

To streamline traffic chaos and curb violations alongwith maintaining law and order with the help of City Surveillance & Traffic Management System, a live demo was given by the eligible bidders on Thursday at the Traffic lights of Sector 66/88 in Mohlai.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Aashika Jain said that the work of Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of City Surveillance & Traffic Management System in Mohali City is being executed by the Punjab Police Housing Corporation. This system will further help the district Police in maintaining Law & Order and E-Challan for traffic violations such as Red light jumping, Over Speeding, Triple riding, Without Helmet etc.
She further said that the E-Challan platform will be integrated with NIC based databases like Vaahan / Saarthi. In the first phase, this system will be installed at 20 different junctions/ locations in SAS Nagar’s Mohali city. Estimated cost of this project is about Rs 8.50 Crores and funds have already been issued to the Punjab Police Housing Corporation by the Government of Punjab.
Mrs Jain said that the Technical bids for this work have been opened and the eligible bidders M/s Door Sanchar Systems, Panchkula and M/s Visual Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Noida have given live demonstration of the offered equipment today at Traffic lights of Sector 66/80 Mohali in the presence of Chief Engineer Ranjodh Singh, Executive Engineer Jaswinder Singh of Punjab Police Housing Corporation, RTA Mohali Pardeep Singh Dhillon and officials of Municipal Corporation Mohali & PEC (Punjab Engineering College).
Financial bids of the bidders will be opened next week, if found qualified in demonstration. The work will be completed within 6 months from the date of allotment of work. Command & Control Centre for 24×7 monitoring this system will be set up in the building of Police Station, Sohana, Sector 79, SAS Nagar.
