Finally, the Catholic Church of ‘Our Lady of Miracles’ was inaugurated on Wednesday, in the village of Togan
The church, built by the Carver family, features a Gothic architectural style, and the interior parts of the church are mesmerizing. The paintings and stained glass windows with holy images are the attractions of this church.
Oswald Cardinal Gracias, the Archbishop of Bombay, who was the main celebrant, blessed and dedicated the church. As many as 11 bishops and 100 priests from all over the country participated in the holy mass. Harold Carver, the Director of St. Stephen’s School, who oversaw the construction of the church, offered it to the Catholic Diocese of Simla Chandigarh under the patronage of Most Rev. Ignatius Mascarenhas.
The Carver family, under the leadership of Harold Carver and Diana Carver, executed the vision of building a House for the Lord in this part of the Diocese.
The Diocese is ever grateful to this family for their magnanimity and grateful hearts. After the Holy Mass, which lasted for almost three hours, the entire congregation participated in the PrabhuKaLangar.
