Chandigarh : Chandigarh Youth Congress leaders have hit roads on Monday to stage protests against the increase in the price rise of LPG.
Staging a protest against the LPG price hike, Chandigarh youth congress President Manoj Lubana demanded the BJP-led Centre to bring the rising fuel prices under control.
The CYC leaders protested with LPG cylinders on their shoulders having the slogans ‘Rollback fuel price hike. They were returning the cylinders back to the Gas agencies since it is practically unaffordable to get them refilled. The pressure on the pocket is enormous.
There was a very large turn out at a rally organised to protest against the hike against the hike in cooking gas prices. The protest rally, which began from sector 25 concluded in a mass demonstration. Participants held aloft placards demanding roll back of hike in the prices of LPG and raised slogans against Narendra Modi Government. They carried an empty LPG cylinder on shoulders to highlight the intensity of the impact on the poor and middle class families.
Speaking on the occasion, Lubana said that the hike in the prices of LPG cylinders would cause financial burden on the poor and middle class families. He pointed out that the steep hike in the prices of the petrol and diesel had also caused direct and indirect financial burden on the poor people. He also talked about the traditional wood stoves literally telling that poor families have no option to go back to the age old stoves, if the hike in LPG prices was not withdrawn.
Preeti Gupta, Navdeep singh, Ranjot Singh Ronnie, Umesh Singh Zappy, Balli Seth, Kirat singh, Rajkaran Singh, Pawan singh, Harman singh, Ankraj singh and nitin kawal were also present in the protest.
