Chandigarh University students set new benchmark for excellence with over 470 innovative projects at CU Project Expo 2024
Gharuan (Mohali): Student projects on waste management, mobility, and space technology stole the spotlight at the CU Project Expo-2024 held by Chandigarh University, where over 470 projects from various academic disciplines were exhibited.
The event served as a platform for emerging geniuses in various disciplines to exhibit exceptional projects, resulting in numerous accolades and recognition for outstanding achievements.
Speaking on the occasion, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “At Chandigarh University, we take immense pride in nurturing creativity and innovation, and the CU Project Expo 2024 was a true testament to the exceptional calibre of our students. Projects exhibitions were a platform for students to showcase innovative projects and cutting-edge research while working on creative and practical ideas to solve real-world challenges,”.
In the Engineering and Technology category, standout projects like “Emergence” and “Tales from the Subcontinent” from the AIT-CSE department showcased cutting-edge advancements. “Atlanz Mobility: A Smart Traffic Management System” tackled urban transportation challenges effectively.
Non-CSE projects like “ATAL” from Electronics & Communication Engineering and “Anti-collision Smart Electric Vehicles with Liquid Cooling Battery Management System” from Electrical Engineering highlighted technological advancements with practical applications. The BE-Food Technology project “Investigating the Formulation and Nutritional Profile of Millet-Based Chocolate” displayed innovation in nutritional research.
Impressive projects on Waste Management and Chandrayaan 3 were highlighted by the Department of Technology and Textile Research (UITTR). Management departments like Business Administration (AIT-BBA) and MBA (AIT-MBA) showcased remarkable achievements, while the Department of Hospitality (UITHM) explored culinary expertise and AI’s impact in the industry.
Initiatives like “IoT Based Gas Cylinder Trolly,” “VR Monumento,” and “Smart Cradle System” from the UIC department integrated technology into daily life for enhanced convenience and safety. The CSE department presented projects like “NCode-IT,” “AQUA LITICS,” “BlockEstate,” and “Robotic Arm Using Teliops,” noted for their technological prowess and potential impact.
In the Sciences cluster, projects like the “Adaptive Stand Magnifier” and “Moringa Millet Choco Bites” from Optometry and Nutrition & Dietetics departments respectively impressed with their innovations.
In the Art cluster, the University Institute of Media Studies (UIMS) project “CU Campus Connect” won top honours followed by “SapatSindhu Magazine”., projects like “Poster Sector to Neighborhood” and “REIMAGINING THE CU CAMPUS” from the Department of Architecture showcased innovative designs. “The Braille Cup” from the Department of Industrial Design received praise for its creativity.
The Department of Fine Arts and Fashion & Design were recognized for projects like “Comic Book-The tale of Mighty Hanuman” and “Macrame.” The Department of Liberal Arts (UILAH) excelled with research posters on various topics.
Industry experts commended the projects for their potential for real-life implementation and contribution to advancing research in related fields.
