 Celebrating International Tiger Day – “Their Survival is in our hands”

‘Saving Tiger is not only our duty but also our responsibility.’

Chandigarh : To raise awareness about this magnificent but endangered big cat Global Tiger Day was celebrated by students of KB DAV 7 on July 29th 2021 on a virtual platform.

The day was founded in 2010, when the 13 tiger range countries came together to create Tx2 – the global goal to double the number of wild tigers by the year 2022.

A special documentary film on tigers was screened for the students, followed by discussions and debates with their peers and teachers. Students of classes 3 to 7 participated in an awareness-generating activities through contests like painting, story writing and a quiz.

The celebrations marked with the faces of children painted with tiger stripes. Some also donned tiger masks, read poetry and give their Thumbs Up For Tigers.

Reasons such as Poaching and illegal trade, Habitat loss, Climate Change Several diseases and Degradation of Habitats poses big threat to tiger conservation. KBDAVians believe that ensuring survival of tigers in wild is a shared responsibility.
