Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) organized ‘Shalok Recitation Contest’ at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector-36 D, Chandigarh under its Month- Long Celebrations to mark the ‘World Children Day & Veer Bal Diwas-2023’. The selected students from all the school clusters of Chandigarhparticipated in this event with great enthusiasm. The topic of the contest was ‘Significance of Education & Knowledge’. Mr.Sanjeev Kaushik, Eminent Professor, University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh graced the event as the Chief Guest and admired the Chairperson, CCPCR for organizing this event.
While speaking on the occasion, Ms.Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR highlighted that this is the first time ever that the Commission has conducted this kind of event focusing to revive our great cultural roots and to make future generation i.e. our students to come across with the vibrant ancient values of nation. Additionally, she emphasized on the importance of language in one’s life , be it the national language and mother language. She further motivated the students to set a goal in their lives and work towards that with full dedication and commitment. She also congratulated the winners.

Ms.Aahna, student of Govt.Model High School,Sector 40A,Chandigrah bagged the first position respectively. The second prize went to Ms. Shivali, Student of Guru Nanak Public School, Sector-36D,Chandigarh. And the third prize jointly went to Ms. Priyanshi and Ms. Shandha Joshi students ofGmSSS,Raipur Khurd,Chandigarh and GMSSS,37-B,Chandigarh.Ms. Netanya Gupta and Ms.Gurjor Kaur, students of Sacred heart,Sector- 26,Chandigarh and Guru Nanak Public School, Sector-36D, Chandigarh bagged consolation prizes.
