CCPCR organized ‘Declamation Contest’

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights(CCPCR) organized ‘Declamation Contest’ at St.Joseph Sr.Sec.School, Sector-44D, Chandigarh under its Month- Long Celebrations to mark the ‘World Children Day & Veer Bal Diwas-2023’. Selected students from all the school clusters of Chandigarhparticipated with great vigour and zeal. The topics of the contest were ‘Ensuring Child Rights: A Moral Imperative for Society’, ‘Child Rights in the Digital Age: Balancing Protection and Participation’, ‘The Role of Education in Safeguarding Child Rights’, ‘The Importance of Child Participation in Decision-Making for their Rights’  and ‘Child Rights and Healthcare: Bridging Gaps for a Healthy Future’.  A pledge dedicating to the Veer Bal Diwas was also taken by the dignitaries along with students and teachers to work towards the holistic wellbeing of children.

While speaking on the occasion, Ms.Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR highlighted that the main objective of conducting such kind of event is to provide  platform to students to articulate and communicate their views about the issues of their own rights and responsibilities as well. She further congratulated the winners and motivated all participants with her words of wisdom.

Mr.Sukhdeep Grewal, Member, Management Committee, St.Joseph Sr.Sec.School, Sector-44D, Chandigarh presented token of gratitude to the Chairperson, CCPCR for organizing this event and sharing her valuable insights with the students.

Ms.Monica Chawla, Principal, of St.Joseph Sr.Sec.School, Sector-44D, Chandigarh extended vote of thanks to all.

Ms.Rinka and Ms. Arshita Bhatia, students of Govt.Model High School,Sector-13,Chandigrah and  St.Joseph Sr.Sec.School, Sector-44D, Chandigarh bagged the first position respectively. The second prize went jointly to Ms Mahira and Ms.Bhavya Sharma, students of St.Anees School, Sector-32, Chandigarh and Guru Nanak Public School, Sector-36D, Chandigarh. Ms. Arshiya, student of Mount Carmel School, Sector-47B got the third position and Mr. Sachkirat Singh, student of  Guru Nanak Public School, Sector-36D, Chandigarh bagged consolation prize.

Mr.Kartar Singh, Legal Consultant, CCPCR, Mrs.Ankita, POCSO Consultant, CCPCR, Mr.Shekhar, Clerk, CCPCR, team members of the concerned school were also present during the event.
