CCPCR inspires CCI Children to participate and contribute in Toycathon-2021

Dawn Punjab Bureau / Chandigarh: As part of the ongoing Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) Holistic Wellbeing Programme, Children were apprised on Toyathon 2021. The programme was coordinated by Ms Niti Mohan, Empanelled Consultant CCPCR.

As part of the programme, Children were shown Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narender Modi live video as well as taught them about basics of entrepreneurship.

Toycathon-2021 was jointly launched by the Ministry of Education, WCD Ministry, MSME Ministry, DPIIT, Textile Ministry, I&B Ministry and AICTE on January 5, 2021 to crowd-source innovative toys and games ideas.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said about 80 per cent of the toys were being imported by India with crores of rupees going abroad and asserted that it was very important to change this situation.

While speaking on the occasion Mrs Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR said, “CCPCR has continuously been undertaking programme for Skill development and training for the CCI children in the field of pot making, macramé making, and beautiful ships by paper, etc. The session was in line with CCPCR objectives of making Children self sufficient and reliant. I am glad 2 CCI children have come forward with their ideas to be part of toyathon”.

After the programme, Children brainstorms on their ideas for Toyathon. One of the Child of the CCI wants to make ship through ballons (detailed attached).

Ms Niti Mohan, Empanelled Consultant, “During CCI Holistic Wellbeing Programme, it was effort to connect our CCI children with Toyathon and make them also part of the journey of making resilient and self sufficient India (atma nirbhar bharat).
