Chandigarh: A patient stay of Ehit Salaria with unbeaten century knock of 111 runs helped UT boys to amass 210/6 runs against Gujarat at the opening day of ongoing Vijay Merchant Trophy league match being played at Pune on Wednesday.
Earlier, Chandigarh won the toss and decided to bat first but the team got off to a poor start with 46/3. A little partnership of 48 runs between Ehit Salaria and Shilok Raina (31) recovered the batting side before the lateral one departed at the score read of 94/4.
Soon Kuldeep Yadav departed without troubling the scorer as half of the team went down at 98/5. With the dismal of Meet Dahiya (17), UT boys were reeling at 121/6.
An unbeaten 89-run partnership of Salaria and Gaganpreet Singh steered Chandigarh to 210/6 before the stumps were drawn.
Salaria scored 111 off 266 balls with 20 boundaries in his credit. From opposition, Kavya P Patel (3/63) took three wickets.
