Candle March in Mohali Pays Tribute to Pulwama Martyrs, Citizens Remember Supreme Sacrifice

DPB, Mohali, Feburery 14: A solemn candle march was organised on Saturday to honour the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. The tribute march was led by Amay Foundation and witnessed participation from social groups and local residents.

The march began from the Rose Garden in Phase 3B1 and concluded at the Light Point between Phase 3 and Phase 5. Upon reaching the venue, participants lit candles and observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to the martyrs. The atmosphere remained deeply emotional as people expressed gratitude for the soldiers’ supreme sacrifice.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson and social worker Abha Bansal said, “February 14 is observed across the country as a Black Day. In the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, the Central Reserve Police Force lost 40 brave personnel. It remains one of the most painful chapters in the nation’s history that can never be forgotten.”

She further added, “It is the duty of every citizen to honour the sacrifice of soldiers who laid down their lives for the security of the country.”

During the march, participants raised patriotic slogans such as “Pulwama martyrs will live forever” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” reflecting deep respect and national pride.

A large number of members from social organisations and local residents joined the tribute. The event concluded with participants expressing condolences to the families of the martyrs and pledging unity against terrorism.
