Bibi Jagir Kaur takes strong notice of Congress leaders lowering the dignity of Akal Takht

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Bibi Jagir Kaur took stern notice of the action taken by the Congress ministers and MLAs against the Akal Takht Jathedar and asked the Congress leaders to refrain from dividing the Sikh community.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that Congress Minister Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa, MLA Kulbir Singh Jira and Harminder Singh Gill had performed a drama in front of a self-styled Jathedar on the road outside the Akal Takht is completely an unholy act.

She said that these Congress leaders had written a letter to the so called Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh Mand a few days back stating that he was not recognized as a Jathedar by the representative bodies of the Sikh Panth so they did not appear before him. But by pretending to appear in a plaza outside Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib tomorrow, they have tarnished the traditions and manners of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

She said that Congress party has been planning to divide the Sikhs from the very beginning. The same party had carried out a heinous act of demolishing Sri Akal Takht Sahib by launching an attack in June 1984 and the leaders of the same party are trying to destroy the traditions of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Jagir Kaur said that where it was written that the old traditions should be abandoned and the place of Akal Takht Sahib should be set up anywhere. Bibi Jagir Kaur appealed to the Sangat to be aware of such plans of the Congress.
