Vice chancellor PU met the protesting teachers in her office and shared the updates of activities and correspondences initiated by the administration for the release of arrears of the employees of Panjab University.
The teachers shared that they will call of their silent protest only after the announcement of the release of the arrears.
Dr Sudhir Mehra told that as requested by the protesting teachers to the PU DUI during their last meeting on 101st day of their protest that PU VC should go and meet the education minister and UGC secretary in person and press for the demand of release of grants so that the arrears are released without any further delay.
The Vice Chancellor today informed the protesting teachers that she is going to meet the central Education Minister and UGC secretary tomorrow to do the needful for the sake of the institution.
Prof Ashok Kumar, Chairperson, Department of Hindi, told that the silent protest will continue till the arrears are released. He also urged the Panjab University teachers association to resolve their internal inflicts and work towards the welfare of the community.
Prof Kumar further informed that former president PUTA Prof Manjeet Singh met the protesting teachers to discuss the issues on which the teachers have stages this more than 100 day long silent protest.
