Directs the Concerned Departments for regular monitoring and expedite the permanent solutions

Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Viraj S Tidke,today, reviewed the action taken reports of the concerned departments on Anti-Bird Measures in the airfield of SBS International Airport, Mohali.
He directed the concerned departments for regular monitoring and expediting the permanent solutions to ensure safe landing and takeoff of flights from the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport.
Ordering the GMADA and DDPO for
closure of the meat shops in Bhabat and Jagatpura area permanently, the ADC (G) asserted that in case of any problem, both the departments can file a case in the court of SDM Mohali under section 133 of CrPC for seeking directions. He asked the concerned authorities to submit an ATR report within 7 days.
He ordered the Drainage Department for preparing estimate for cleaning and coverage of the Jagatpura Drain so that the dirt and filth could not attract the birds. MC Zirakpur apprised the ADC of the tender floated for installing the net around Bishanpura Dumping Ground.
MC Mohali Assistant Commissioner Ranjeev Kumar said that to remove sector 74 dumping ground, a tender for remediation and processing of solid waste has already been in progress and getting approval from chief engineer the work would be started immediately.
Chief Minister Field Officer, Inder Pal apprised the ADC (G) that the District Magistrate has already issued a ban order on use of laser lights/strong beam lights within a radius of 5 nautical miles around Shaheed-e- Azam Bhagat Singh International Airport, SAS Nagar.
DDPO Amaninder Singh Chauhan added that work of solid waste management project would be completed in two months in Jagatpur area to resolve the issue of waste. Similarly, one more solid waste project is coming up at Kandala village to redress dumping ground issue. Apart from that an animal Carcass disposal ground situated at Kandala would also be shifted to some other place near village Nagiari.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Viraj S Tidke directed the MC Zirakpur for regular cleanliness of Bhabat Godwon Area and Boundary Wall area of the Airport.
The Meeting was attended by SDM Mohali Chandrajyoti Singh, District Development and Panchayat Officer, Amninder Pal Singh Chauhan and Assistant Commissioner MC Ranjeev Kumar besides Zirakpur MC, GMADA and Airport officers.
