AAP leader joins Cong

Mohali : Mohali Congress candidate and former Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu’s support base is growing with each passing day as more and more leaders and supporters from opposition parties are joining his campaign in Mohali.
The latest to add to this list is AAP leader Bir Singh Bajwa from Shahimajra village who along with his supports joined Congress party on Tuesday in the presence of Mohali Mayor Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu and Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi. Bajwa had fought the Mohali MC poll last year.

Speaking on the occasion Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu said that in the 2017 Assembly elections,  Balbir Sidhu had broken all previous records by winning the Mohali seat by  over 30,000 votes. “This could only be possible due to the immense love and faith of the people of Mohali in him. The people of Mohali are connected with Balbir Sidhu like a family and whenever elections come they come forward and take care of his election campaign by themselves.”Going by the present people’s sentiments towards Balbir Sidhu this time too, it could be said with confirmation that he would break his previous record of winning margin from Mohali, Mayor remarked.

He further said that Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kulwant Singh was trying to mislead the people by using petty tricks . However in reality Kulwant Singh was rejected so badly in the 2021 municipal elections that he lost from his own ward by a margin of nearly 300 votes. When he was not accepted by the people of his own ward,  how could he be accepted by Mohali people, he said.

Bir Singh Bajwa said that he was with the Congress party earlier and it was his home coming . He further said that it was Congress party and Mohali MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu who have developed Mohali constituency.
